Name full of symbolism, picturesque, but true. Vast expanses, interwoven with green forests and a greener meadows and pastures, area where shepherds from the neighboring villages, used to pasture their numerous flocks. Today, only a few of them... They were replaced by numerous tourist hikers, walkers, cyclists and motorcyclists. In some days of summer, the whole area looks like a huge anthill. But these „ants„ do not work, they recreate!

Green Mountain... With spring greenest... But in the early fall, her gown is changing and slowly takes rosy yellow color , which , as it gives the fatigue of the invisible but constant struggle against all harsh climate, brought by new age. But in spite of all, this kind of green oasis provides a perfect haven to escape from the asphalt desert, which grows over time, arrogantly devouring everything that gets in its path of growth.

Still beautiful and adorable. Fully deserves the title of the most beautifull and gentlest Dinaric mountain. So different from Maglić, of which, incidentally, divided only by Sutjeska river and its deep canyon. Through the canyon runs one of the roads, by which it is possible to reach Zelengora . The second one is from the direction of town of Kalinovik. From Tjentiste, starts the road about 20 km long, which leads directly to the lake Donje Bare, on whose shore is a small mountain house that can be rented. Near the house there are picnic areas. Place is ideal for an enjoyable active holiday, because in addition to fishing, the site offers the possibility of organizing a multi-day hiking and trekking tours. It may not be superfluous to mention that by aforementioned lake, former Yugoslav dictator Tito had a lodge and often spent vacations there.

In the “saddle” ÄŒemerno, on the road Belgrade - Foca - Tjentište - Trebinje, road separates after 50 kilometers leads to the heart of the mountain, the first of its eight clear glacial lakes - Orlovačko Lake. The lake is rich in fish, and attracts many types of fishermen to its shores every day and testing their luck. This lake, the most visited tourist destination of Mt. Zelengorea, also has its wooden cabin which, like the one by Donje Bare Lake, can be rented and used as suitable accommodation during the stay in this mountain.

Durmitor, the " mountain eyes " - the most commonly used term for its beautiful clear lakes - the award is for true " hard workers " who conqured Bregoč, as well as numerous other peaks of this beauty.

Zelengora offers an active vacation, but this is primarily a vacation for the soul. Hiking, walking, biking along arranged and marked trails, swimming in one of the crystal -clear lake, collecting herbs, berries and mushrooms are just some of the activities that are like an exhaust valve for a man, and express his return to the lost peace of mind.

This green gem of National Park Sutjeska, is known for its richness of flora and fauna. At on its meadows and pastures grow a large number of endemic species. The green vastness is a treasure of medicinal plants. It seems that here you can find everything from chamomile to Iceland lichen. When the berries are concerned the mountain is generous also, blueberries, in particular.
